The MiniLDV Doppler Velocimeter<\/strong> is self-contained and permanently aligned. It contains a laser, miniature beam shaping optics, receiving optics and a detection system.<\/p>\n

The sensor has a diameter of 32 mm and a length of 165 mm. The fixed distance between the sensor and the probe volume (safety distance) can be selected: 33, 50, 100, 150 or 240 mm. The measuring field depends on the safety distance and ranges from 30 x 60 x 200 \u00b5m to 100 x 200 x 1200 \u00b5m.<\/p>\n

The LDV<\/strong> MiniLDV velocimeter<\/strong> is also available in two- and three-head versions.<\/p>\n

In a laser<\/strong> Doppler<\/strong> velocimeter<\/strong>, two coherent laser beams are crossed (forming the probe volume) to generate interference bangs. As a microscopically textured particle or surface moves through this region, it reflects flashes of light corresponding to its passage through the constructive interference regions. As the spacing between the bangs is constant, the speed of the particle or surface is proportional to the frequency of the reflected bursts. MSE’s miniLDV also features a frequency shift (moving bangs) to measure direction and velocity.<\/p>\n

The miniLDV<\/strong> velocimeter<\/strong> sensor has a measurement range of 1 mm\/s to 300 m\/s, with a repeatability uncertainty of 0.1% and an absolute accuracy of 99.7%.<\/p>\n

The system comprises the miniLDV probe, the processing engine and the 1D Burst Processor Acquisition Manager software package. Linear displacement systems (one or two axes) with manual or electronic drive (electronic displacements are controlled from the software) and a computer with the software installed and verified by MSE technicians are available as options.<\/p>\n

The miniLDV probe is also available with a built-in processing motor, like the integrated miniLDV. If the standard probes don’t meet your needs, please contact us and ask about our customized solutions.<\/p>\n

The miniLDV probe is protected by US patent no. 6 654 102.<\/p>\n
