The patented NANO Z\u00ae Z-lift air-bearing stages developed by our partner ALIO overcome inherited design problems associated with Z-stages and other vertical stages. They use a new combination of air bearings and two voice coil motors in a compact footprint with a travel of up to 50 mm.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The use of air bearings means negligible friction, enabling unrivalled precision and repeatability down to a few nanometers. The variable counterweight makes it easy to handle heavy weights, while ensuring nanometer accuracy over the entire travel range.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The design of the NANO Z\u00ae places the vertical force in line with the payload, allowing the stage to be placed directly under the payload instead of beside it, thus avoiding inaccuracies and virtually eliminating pitch, yaw and roll.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
