Ring-type actuators are based on a hollow cylindrical design. Compared to a “stack” actuator, the ring actuator has higher bending stability, better heat management efficiency, and provides a visual on the system axis. For the same volume of piezoelectric material, a ring-type actuator has a larger overall diameter, resulting in increased stability against bending and puckering forces applied to the actuator. Their larger overall surface area also removes heat from the system more quickly, enabling them to operate at much higher frequencies than battery-type actuators can achieve without overheating. The ring-type actuator is available with (Hpst series) or without (HpstVS series) preload and casing.
Our ring-type actuators can achieve a range of motion from 0 µm to 130 µm, while generating maximum forces of up to 35 kN.
Ring-type actuators can be customized with options for low-temperature modification, thermostability and cooling, and even an axial cable outlet, giving you greater freedom and flexibility with your application design.
