Micron 2 G

The G series is a highly configurable Cartesian robot design based on ALIO’s proven standard boards, which can be adapted to suit the customer’s load, throughput, precision, travel and budget. 

Customers can choose from XY travels ranging from 100mm to 1m and beyond, as well as various powerful drive options enabling accelerations of up to 3.5G. As the gantries are delivered on rigid base plates such as granite, they offer superior precision with an accuracy of +/- 1.5µm. 

A key factor in this high accuracy is the option of “yaw compliance” – a virtual rotary axis for precise compensation of small angular misalignments, which can also be used as a real rotary axis for the expected small angular movements. 

Combining the Cartesian robot with optional degrees of freedom such as Z-axis, rotary axis, (inverted) tripods, hybrid hexapods or gimbals makes this series one of the most versatile and flexible high-precision motion systems on the market. 

This type of Cartesian robot is ideal for industrial applications such as welding, laser machining, additive manufacturing or 3D printing.
