The OptiSpheric® IOL R&D station is specifically designed for the analysis of simple intraocular lenses in research and development. It allows important parameters of all lens types (monofocal, multifocal (diffractive, refractive), trifocal, toric, aspherical) to be measured in air or in situ according to ISO 11979.

The comprehensive range of accessories and multiple adjustment options ensure accurate and varied measurements of all crucial aspects when developing a new lens design. For example, the imaging properties of the implant are simulated in a tilted or off-center lens position after implantation.

The software is as flexible as the hardware: individual user-defined test processes can be run or standard procedures recorded for later repetition.

Key features:

  • Optimized for use in research and development
  • Measurement accuracy of 0.3% and high repeatability
  • Measurement in accordance with the standards of hydrophobic and hydrophilic lenses in air or model eyes in situ, heatable, according to ISO 11979
  • Multiple adjustment options for in-depth testing with different corneas and filters
  • Measurement and testing of refractive power (nominal value for sphere, cylinder and addition), EFL and MTF via precise and automated autofocus
  • Universally suitable for all types of intraocular lenses: monofocal, aberration spherical, trifocal, trifocal, toric and aspherical multifocal lenses and extended field depth (EDOF) (diffractive, refractive or sectors)
  • Immediate evaluation of the measurement result with corresponding display by quality control with pass/fail analysis
  • Traceability to independent international test and measurement institutes such as NPL and NIST
