The PSH 8 series of tilting systems consists of two active piezoelectric actuators. These actuators allow the upper plate to be tilted in two axes. The two axes are perpendicular to each other.
Their construction is temperature compensated so that changes in ambient temperature do not affect the angle of inclination. Reclining mirror mounts are preloaded, making them ideal for dynamic applications. One of their main advantages is a high resonance frequency. Therefore, this system can provide a response time lower than msec.
A closed-loop version with integrated positioning control is available for high linearity and positioning repeatability. Non-magnetic materials and other customer size requirements are available upon request. The PSH 8 series is designed for mirrors and optical components up to 50 mm in diameter.
For mounting other components on the top plate, threads and pin holes are available. A special mounting clamp can be provided for these systems to avoid torque forces between the housing and the top plate when mounting the mirror or other components.
