Stack actuators are available with and without housing. As an option, a preload can be added to this series to protect the actuators against tensile forces. Coupling to external mechanics is simply via end vanes. The actuators are based on a special intelligent material called PZT ceramic. This enables these actuators to achieve outstanding performance with a range of motion from 0 µm to 260 µm, or even more on request, while generating maximum forces of up to 50 kN. Actuators are available in a range of lengths, with a 50 mm stack generally having a maximum movement of 50-70 µm (0.1% -1.015 of length).
Stacks can be optimized for specific applications. For example, we can increase the preload to achieve even higher working dynamics. We can also add cooling for improved thermostability.
