Plane-Parallel Optics (SIS Option)

Plane-parallel optics are transparent components with parallel faces, or systems with two or more parallel surfaces. Measuring a single surface with an interferometer is extremely difficult, if not impossible, because all parallel surfaces contribute to the fringes of the interferogram. 

The surface insulation source from our partner 4D Technology is an optional external laser source that excludes everything except the affected surface. The SIS module allows you to measure both surfaces of a transparent lens with a standard AccuFiz interferometer. You can also calculate transmitted wavefront error, optical thickness and homogeneity from a single measurement setup. 

The adjustable path matching mechanism offers great flexibility, allowing you to select any area between 88 and 112 millimetres from the aperture.
