The IL1 quartz-halogen source is a classic light source for UV, visible and near-IR applications from 350nm to 2.5µm.
It comprises a quartz-halogen lamp and a stabilized power supply. A condensing lens is used at the output to bring the light to the input of the f/4 monochromators.
Halogen sources have no equivalent in terms of stability, and should therefore be preferred when output at the desired wavelength is sufficient.
