The 2D-LCA is a precision two-dimensional laser anemometer using LCA (Laser Cantilever Anemometry) technology, developed by Measurement Science Enterprise (MSE). It enables simultaneous measurement of both components of wind speed with very high spatial and temporal resolution, all in a wireless, lightweight and portable format.
This system is based on a microstructured cantilever that acts as a flow body. Under the effect of air or water flow, the cantilever deforms, and this deflection is detected with extreme precision via an optical system based on the laser lever principle.
Technical characteristics:
- Real-time 2D wind measurement (speed and direction)
- Frequency response up to 150 kHz
- Non-contact optical technology, insensitive to electromagnetic interference
- Can be used in air or water
- Low calibration requirements and simple alignment
- Software supplied with free lifetime updates
Advantages over a hot-wire anemometer:
- More robust, with no fragile parts
- Minimal maintenance, occasional calibration only
- High durability even in harsh environments
- Portability and rapid deployment
- No more hot-wire handling: move up to the next generation!
The 2D-LCA is the ideal solution for researchers, aerodynamic engineers, and any application requiring detailed analysis.
