FlowLab Velocimeter

The FlowLab is a highly versatile miniature hydraulic tunnel designed for the visualisation, analysis and demonstration of fluid flows in laboratory or educational environments. Compatible with MSE optical flow sensors (such as miniLDV or miniPIV), FlowLab is a complete platform for experimental studies in fluid mechanics.

Compact dimensions and modular design:

• Footprint: 1,320 mm (W) × 560 mm (D) × 890 mm (H)
• 1/3 HP submersible pump providing up to 40 GPM (approximately 1 m/s in a 50 mm × 50 mm section)
• 24-inch (610 mm) test section and user-removable plenums
• Integrated dye injection for flow visualisation

FlowLab Standard Package:

• Wire plenum with optical access on the return side
• Test section with removable circular plug
• Accessories included:

o Brass cylinder

o Stainless steel aerodynamic profile

o Blind cap

Optional test sections:

• Axisymmetric jet
• Flat plate
• Hydraulic jump (incompatible with the Wire plenum)
