Optical equipment and components for lighting and luminaires
Discover how our turnkey systems solve complex light measurement problems
To meet the technical requirements of the lighting and luminaire market, TRIOPTICS France offers a range of solutions and concepts, either individually or in combination. Discover below some of the possible applications that will revolutionize the field of lighting and make daily life easier for lighting professionals.
Measuring road lighting luminance for greater safety
Road lighting has a definite impact on road safety. The illuminated surface of the road needs to be precisely calibrated to facilitate vision of the various obstacles potentially present on the roadway, without dazzling drivers. That’s why TRIOPTICS France supplies luminance measurement equipment to help all those involved in road safety.
To guarantee optimum lighting conditions, we recommend selecting lighting systems that comply with current standards and technical conditions.
In fact, road lighting requirements are based on criteria relating to :
- The level of brightness and uniformity of road luminance
- Lighting of the immediate environment
- Glare control

To meet these requirements, our partner GL Optic offers a system dedicated to road lighting measurements in accordance with the current EN 13201: 2016 standard.
This new imaging luminance measurement device provides all the data needed to calculate luminance distribution and ensure that roads comply with standards, in just a few seconds. The GL OPTICAM 3.0 4K TEC is the world’s first instrument fully adapted to field measurements.

Measurement of energy-efficient tunnel entrance lighting
To maintain tunnel lighting at an optimal level in relation to the surrounding luminance and to save energy, the TEP photometer (tunnel entrance photometers) is the ideal instrument to provide the required measurements. This system is essential for lighting assessments in tunnels and other underground passages.
Optimised measurement of illuminance, luminance and luminous flux
Our partner GL Optic offers portable spectrophotometers designed to meet various light measurement applications. With these instruments, it is possible to assess the lighting quality of LED lamps, modules and luminaires without the need for an expert.
These devices can also provide additional information such as:
- Colour temperature
- Colour coordinates
- Impact on the circadian rhythm
- TM30-18, CRI
- PAR and PPFD values (for horticultural sources)
- Etc.

Beyond illuminance, complementary devices are available to analyse the luminance and luminous flux of light sources. Integrating spheres are among these.
Integrating spheres are accessories used with spectrometers that allow measurement of the total luminous flux of a source. Their size ranges from 48 mm to 3 m in diameter, depending on the light source to be characterised.
Luminance cameras enable lamp designers and engineers to control lighting performance, check the uniformity of luminance in material diffusion, and evaluate maximum luminance levels in order to prevent glare issues.
Luminance cameras are useful for:
- Obtaining luminance maps
- Commissioning indoor or outdoor lighting installations
- Measuring photometric characteristics of luminaires or extended surfaces
Another instrument is used to measure the light distribution of all types of sources – LEDs, micro-LEDs, luminaires for general lighting or automotive headlights: the goniophotometer.
TRIOPTICS France supplies a wide range of goniophotometers type A, B or C – from benchtop goniophotometers to advanced laboratory goniophotometers.
