Luminance camera (GL OPTIC)

Diffusion materials and secondary optics used in the development of LED lighting products help designers and engineers control lighting performance. This means that manufacturers of LED-based lamps and luminaires need reliable luminance testing solutions that enable them to check luminance uniformity when diffusing materials, and to assess maximum luminance levels to avoid glare problems.

All touchscreen control panels, displays, backlit keyboards and panels or screens need to be checked during the R&D and development phase for performance and consistency. With the growing number of applications for LED lighting products, requirements for on-site luminance measurement are becoming more stringent for lighting audits of new LED installations and maintenance control of existing indoor and outdoor lighting installations.

The GL OPTI CAM luminance camera is the perfect tool for photometric measurements over large areas, such as screens, road signs, etc.

Each camera pixel is calibrated to obtain a precise luminance value in cd*m-2.

It can be used for a wide range of applications, from luminance mapping to indoor or outdoor lighting monitoring, or in goniophotometry to measure the photometric characteristics of luminaires or large surfaces.
