Measurement of surface roughness, shape & waviness

We propose non-contact measurement systems designed to characterize precision mechanical surfaces during production. These systems are used in most fields where surfaces play an important role, such as the automotive industry, mechanical engineering or medical technology.
The 100% analysis of complex parts, the optimization of machining processes and the reduction of tool costs are just some of the challenges faced by manufacturers of precision mechanics.
The heart of our measurement solution is scattered light technology.

    The scattered light principle:

Surface measurement using scattered light technology was established many years ago. Based on the measurement of the distribution of light backscattered by a surface, it is possible to measure surfaces up to 10,000 times faster than with conventional measuring equipment.
Until now, the extremely precise measurement of mechanical surfaces (down to nm) was carried out in separate inspection rooms. We now offers a solution that can be integrated directly on the production machine, considerably reducing measurement time.
The two main strengths of this method are its insensitivity to vibration and its high repeatability.
The scattered light sensor is a high-precision angle-measuring device that records small angles generated by backscattered light to obtain the roughness parameter Aq. It also records large angles from the center of gravity of the distribution curve. This enables the shape and undulations of the surface to be calculated with great precision. The measurement method is traceable to standards.
