Precision 3D scanners

Our parent company JENOPTIK offers machines for scanning and 3D inspection without contact for complex parts made of plastic, metal or glass.
The non-contact 3D scanning based on structured light projection allows to achieve a high resolution 3D surface scan in record time. This is why 3D optical measuring instruments are increasingly used for quality control in all phases of production.
Unlike conventional 3D touch measuring machines, optical 3D measuring instruments are not only distinguished by a higher information density and faster data acquisition, but also by their robustness, their ease of use and low maintenance.
Technology used for 3D scanning

The technology used by JENOPTIK is a patented image acquisition method. The use of a fixed reference camera relative to the part to be measured allows for highly accurate and automated photogrammetric fusion of partial views into a complete 3D model. Therefore, there is no need to glue physical targets on the part to be measured. The two motorized standard axes are fully controlled by the measurement software and can be supplemented with other axes if necessary.

The advantages of the 3D scanner include a resolution of up to 12 million pixels, measuring fields from 20 mm to 230 mm, point-to-point distance from 5 μm, as well as photogrammetric recording of all camera views.
Easy to use software

JENOPTIK has created an intuitive user interface and automated processes to simplify the user’s experience. The clear concept of use of FLEXMAN software allows for a simple and cost-effective implementation of control processes in quality and production. Many options are available from the standa range
JENOPTIK has created an intuitive user interface and automated processes to simplify the user’s experience. The clear concept of use of FLEXMAN software allows for a simple and cost-effective implementation of control processes in quality and production. Many options are available from the standard range: creation of an unlimited number of scan plans, easy setup of automation sequences without programming, support for multiple partial measurements, automated photogrammetric combination of partial views into a global data model, calibration monitoring, simple recalibration of the sensor by a single mouse click after a measurement field change, Rapid processing of point clouds and automation interfaces to external 3D inspection programs
Theoretical/Actual comparison

The contact-free 3D optical measurement technology offers a unique possibility to make complete comparisons between manufactured parts and CAD models very quickly.
After scanning, the digital model of the measured part is compared to the desired CAD model. Once the two models are set in the same reference, deviations can be quickly displayed and easily identified thanks to the different color levels established by the measurement software. The colour display allows you to see at a glance the problem areas on the produced parts.
Typical geometrical deviations such as deformation, shrinkage or misalignment as well as tool tread or wear marks are easily recognizable. This allows the user to implement process optimization strategies and actions to eliminate problems in a timely manner.
These procedures are particularly suitable for the control of parts during production. Intuitive measurement reports and extensive automation options enable the highest industry-specific inspection requirements to be met.
