The optical centering of one or more components before bonding is a critical operation which has a major impact on the image quality of an optical system. TRIOPTICS has developed the OptiCentric centering measurement station, a range of PC-controlled workstations that enable precise control of the centering of a component or lens.
OptiCentric uses two measurement techniques:
Centering in transmission, generally used for final inspection, and centering in reflection, used for inspection of individual surfaces.
In both cases, it is necessary to rotate the component. For this purpose, TRIOPTICS has developed turntables on air bearings which ensure a very high level of guidance (coaxiality < 0.1 µm). On the detection side, several levels of sophistication are also offered, from the visual control system that requires operator judgement to the fully automated workstation with one or two measuring heads. In conjunction with the Opticentric centering measurement station, we also offer the optional Optisurf module for measuring the thickness and distance between lenses in an assembly. OptiCentric is designed for both industrial users wishing to characterize large series of components, and R&D departments looking for one-off measurements.
