The SRS8 and SRS8RI reference sources are uniform spectral luminance calibrated sources for routine calibration of spectroradiometers, telephotometers and luminance meters.

Both sources are based on barium sulphate coated integration spheres (BaSO4) equipped with a quartz-halogen deflector lamp to provide excellent uniformity of illumination, and are easily mounted on any optical bench system or flat surface.

While the standard calibration range is 380 nm to 800 nm, it can be extended as defined in the options table below. This calibration is performed against calibrated lamps from the National Physical Laboratory (NPL, Teddington, UK) owned by Bentham. A direct NPL calibration can also be proposed.

The SRS8 lamp of 200 mm diameter, provides an outlet, equipped with a diffuser window, 50 mm in diameter. The SRS8 requires a precision 4,000 A constant current DC power supply (Bentham 610).

A small diameter aperture can be mounted on the window of the SRS8 (RI option), provided with a spectral radiation intensity calibration. Other options include a quartz diffuser window instead of glass and a filter holder to accommodate a range of neutral density and color temperature change filters.
