Corning no longer produces Pyrex for optics but AGI has a limited stock of Pyrex.
AGI also supplies Schott SUPREMAX 33 mirror blanks equivalent to Pyrex borosilicate, and is an excellent alternative for telescope mirror blanks.
The AGI blanks have the following characteristics:
- Precision annealed material (6 Mu at least guaranteed)
- Diamond ground edges with a 220 grain finish
- Dimensional tolerances +/- 0.010”
- The main face is diamond ground at 0.033 with a 120 grain finish.
- Diamond-ground curves at +/- 1% of the radius with a 120 gr finish.
- All edges are chamfered
AGI can also provide telescope mirror blanks as per specification, on request.
