Ultra LDV Velocimeter

The ultraLDV laser velocimeter is the first of the new-generation MSE probes to offer an “all-in-one” package. As with the miniLDV Doppler anemometer, the ultraLDV laser velocimeter is pre-aligned and factory-calibrated. No user alignment is required.

The complete system is about the size of a shoebox. Standard measuring distances available are 100, 300 and 400 mm. The ultraLDV Doppler velocimeter features larger receiving optics than the MiniLDV laser velocimeter (4 to 9 times more light) and an ultra-stable frequency shift. It has been designed from the outset to offer extremely high stability and accuracy, making it ideal for measuring low-velocity disturbances in flows.

The ultraLDV velocimeter has an offset frequency stability of 99.98% and an absolute measurement accuracy of 99.8%. The ultraLDV system consists of the ultraLDV probe with integrated processing processor and 1D Burst Processor Acquisition Manager software.

Linear displacement systems (one or two axes) with manual or electronic drive (electronic displacements are controlled from the software) and a computer with the software installed and verified by MSE technicians are available as options. All optics, electronics and processing are integrated into a single housing. The probe simply connects to a host computer via a USB 2.0 interface.
